What is the difference between monitoring software and filtering software?
Filtering software attempts to allow access based on the appropriateness of Internet content, monitoring software creates a log of activities to track & monitor a user's activity on the Internet. Unlike filtering software, which leaves the definition of "inappropriate material" in the software author's hands, monitoring software watches
all Internet activity and reports it back to you.

How do you address the communication ports when using a remote server?
The server is listening for incoming data on TCP port 7879. The client machines and the company firewall should be allowed to send the data to the server IP address on port 7879. A solution that we suggest in this case is to map the server port and IP address with an internal port and IP address. In this case let’s say that the real server IP address is 12.1.1.1 (an internet IP address) who is listening to port 7879 can be emulated on a local machine let’s say 10.0.0.1 on port 7979 and in this case only the machine with the ip 10.0.0.1 will access the real server (less administrative effort).
